OH, WHAT A CIRCUS!

We often joke that Events are much like a Circus, but it’s a very rare occasion that our Event actually IS a Circus...

Such was the case when we planned the VIP Blue Carpet Houston Premier for Cirque du Soleil’s “Amaluna.” The spectacular show invites audience members to a mysterious island ruled by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. With Houston’s media and social elite previewing the first night of the performance, we set out to create an atmosphere of wonderment and delight from the moment they came onto the grounds.

Enter our team of extraordinary professionals: DJU Productions, URBNPhoto, and a menagerie of players, with ringleader Dan O’Brien of J&D Entertainment. Together, we brought smiles to every face we encountered!

Getting the stilt walkers, contortionists, peacock models, and jumping jugglers ready and in place was a piece of cake. Opening night in a new city is not without it’s bobbles, and even one of the world’s largest professional travelling shows needs a hand now and then. A fun fact about Cirque du Soleil: They travel with all of their own equipment. Think of it this way: wherever they stop, they are ready to put on a perfect show. I like to think of them as an island unto themselves. Long story short: I didn’t know I had it in me to become an advanced media screen repair tech! Crisis averted with a quick call to my pals at StageDirections, who came to save the day in the middle of rush hour traffic!

I absolutely loved working with Cirque—not the typical “Corporate” Client—not the typical ANYTHING! They are truly a unique work family who LOVES and lives for what they do, and strives to bring you into their world of wonder, if only for a few hours. Should you have a chance to see Amaluna before it departs Houston on March 22, GO! Tip: The VIP is indeed totally worth it!
