Let's take a moment to talk about Houston weather. If you live here, you know how temperamental it can be. This May was no different. Jenny and Mike’s big day was originally set to take place outdoors at the McGovern Centennial Gardens. The wedding venue was beautiful, but the weather- not so much. Out came the dark clouds and a week of nonstop rain.

Part 2: Mr. & Mrs. Michael DeCleene
When Jenny arrived from New York City just a mere two days before her wedding, we knew it had to be moved. The humidity would be too much to bear, and the thought of wet linens had us running to find a new Houston wedding venue.

Luckily, The JW Marriott Downtown came to our rescue. Their downstairs art gallery wasn’t being used, so we now had a new venue, one day before the wedding! Our wedding planner team had to redesign and pick up an already planned wedding and move it to a completely different space with a different style. After making a new floor plan in record time, caterers, rentals, florals and guests were all redirected to the JW Marriott.

After all the bumps we encountered, the wedding was officially moved. The crazy part is that you would never know it wasn’t supposed to be at the Marriott the entire time. Jenny and Mike’s personal décor worked beautifully with the art gallery, although the fans were no longer needed!
The entire night was a total hit. It even stopped raining long enough for Jenny and Mike to get some beautiful pictures at their original venue! These two were absolutely amazing and took everything in stride. Our Houston wedding planners couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with and wish them nothing but happiness in all the years to come.
The cherry on top was winning the ISES Crystal Icon award for Best Wedding Design, budget under $50k for Jenny and Mike’s wedding. We couldn’t have done it without all our amazing vendors and team who helped us from the beginning.
