REAL WEDDING: Antoinette & Ethan

Antoinette and Ethan were one of the most sweetest, most hospitable couples our Houston wedding planners have ever worked with. It all started when they asked us for event design help with their Houston wedding. Recent grads moving across country, long distance wedding planning can be tough, especially with a new career. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to help this amazing couple. Gratitude can not even begin to describe the demeanor of probably the nicest clients we've had to date. It was an absolute pleasure bringing their dream to life at the Julia Ideson Library this spring. The bride's hashtag says is all. What began as #EthanIsDreamy evolved into #TheRosenbergsAreDreamy ....and I couldn't have said it better myself. We just love these newlyweds!

What was your favorite part of the planning?

Antoinette - All of it! Seriously, I loved every minute of wedding planning - from silly things like buying wedding planning books/magazines to the important stuff like creating our wedding ceremony. If I had to pick one thing though, it would be date nights with Ethan early in our engagement where we talked about what we envisioned for our wedding day and our lives together. It was a really sweet time.

Ethan - Picking (and tasting) the food was awesome, but one of my favorite parts is when we met with Christina and Melissa a few days before the wedding to go through our Saturday schedule minute by minute. It made it so real. Plus, since we had done most of our planning from Minnesota, it was a great way to spend some time with our official planners.

What was your favorite moment from the wedding day?

Antoinette - Can I say all of it? I have too many favorites. I really loved walking down the aisle. It was so magical to have the doors open and to see our favorite people smiling, and then to see my sweet man at the end of the aisle. A few seconds after I started walking, I realized I had been going so fast because I was so excited!

Ethan - The whole day was such a blur. From the prep to the ceremony to the reception everything flew by. I guess my favorite part was the one part that seems stuck in my mind as the perfect moment--when I saw Antoinette just before the ceremony for the first time in her beautiful wedding gown. She was so beautiful and happy, and it immediately put me at ease for the rest of the night.

What is one thing you knew you had to have to make your wedding very “Antoinette and Ethan?"

Antoinette - Hands down the Bourbon Bar! We love trying out new bourbons and it's something I wanted to share with our friends and family.

Ethan - We don't always do everything by the book, so a table of cake balls and cupcakes instead of an official cake was a great touch. The variety was incredible! I wanted to try one of each flavor.

Advice to future Brides & Grooms in planning and/or on the day of the wedding:

Antoinette - One thing I really struggled to do throughout the planning process was to decide on something and then move on from it. Ethan can tell you about how I ordered ten different types of ribbons from Amazon for our wedding invitations, mulled over them for days, and then still debated my choice as we were tying the ribbons on. It's easy to get stuck on unimportant details.

Ethan - Let your wife-to-be buy ten different types of ribbons even though you know she won't like any of them and she'll have to buy more... Also, remember that no matter how hard you try, something will not be perfect at your wedding. Focus on the things that make you happy, and don't worry about the little details that might pop up that you can't control.

Which is your favorite photo from the gallery?

Antoinette - Our photographer, Stacy Reeves, is amazing so it was hard to choose. Two of my favs: us after our first look and our amazing bridal party!

Ethan - When the doors opened up with my wife-to-be having this face, I'll never forget that look. Also, I loved the way the reception was decorated, so I'm definitely a fan of the reading room at The Julia Ideson Library.
