Real Wedding: Emily & Jarrod

Sometimes our Houston wedding planners get a couple that are so original and fun, that you can’t wait to see how their big day will turn out. That’s how it was working with Emily and Jarrod. They were so excited to be getting married and so at ease with everything in life that our wedding planners couldn’t help but be enthusiastic as well!

Emily and Jarrod had one of the most creative and original wedding reception venues, Avant Garden. The old house was turned into a bar and its courtyard was transformed into “grandma’s attic” as Emily liked to call it. There were vintage pieces, doilies, and mementos of their relationship scattered all over the place. She even had her friends and family bring homemade wedding cakes in place of a traditional bride’s cake. We ended up with over thirty deliciously creative cakes.

Once the guests arrived from the church, the real fun began. The taco truck officially started serving dinner and props were brought out as soon as the dance floor opened. The groom even got on stage and played a few songs with the band. For those who weren’t into dancing, they could find the entire upstairs of the bar overflowing with board games for their entertainment. Everyone at the wedding was such a joy to work with that the night didn’t feel like work at all. We had such a blast listening to the guests tell stories about how they knew the bride and groom; you could tell that they treated and loved everyone like family. We hope for nothing but the best for Emily and Jarrod as they make the move to North Dakota!
